My original setup purchased in 1988 from Adorama, NYC, USA. A TeleVue 4" F/5 GENESIS fluorite refractor on a Celestron Super Polaris mount along with a selection of Televue Plossel and Nagler eyepieces
In the mid 1990's I changed the standard Celestron handset for a UK made 'PinPoint' controller (no longer available) which as well as the usual RA and DEC direction buttons had programmable backlash compensation. This can be seen sitting on the tray along with a 12V power distribution box I made. This was the setup I used for many years doing film astrophotography.
This photo was probably taken in 2004 when I was setting up to photograph the Transit of Venus that year.
